Modella Lottie is an animation editor designed to organize visual assets, bring them to life, and export the result for the web.

The application brings together a composition canvas, a timeline, and animation controls. It lets you work with images, SVG assets, and text directly in your browser.

The goal is to turn a brand’s or project’s assets into reusable animations, connecting editing, previewing, and Lottie export.

The challenge

How do you turn a static asset into a web animation?

A logo, illustration, or message may need motion to communicate an idea or enhance a digital experience.

Animating these assets requires organizing elements, deciding when each one appears, and controlling how they transform over time.

The process involves several connected tasks:

When these tasks are spread across separate tools and files, reviewing an animation or creating a variation takes extra steps.

The challenge was to bring all this work into a dedicated editor.

An application focused on the tools needed to compose, animate, and export Lottie projects while keeping assets organized.

The solution

A visual editor that connects composition, timing, and export.

The workflow has three stages: preparing assets, creating motion, and saving and exporting the animation.

Prepare the composition

Each project has a configurable canvas and a layer structure.

You can import SVG files and images, add text using fonts from the library, and organize elements into groups and nested compositions.

The asset library lets you reuse and replace assets without changing their position in the animation.

Create the motion

The timeline lets you define how each element changes.

Keyframes control position, scale, rotation, anchor point, and opacity. Curves let you fine-tune acceleration and the pacing of transitions.

Presets provide a starting point for common movements. You can then adjust their values and timing on the project tracks.

The workflow:

Copying, repeating, reversing, and shifting keyframes helps you build new sequences.

The edit history lets you try changes and undo them whenever needed.

The project preserves the composition so you can continue editing it later.

Project management, private assets, and export are all part of the same workspace.

The application organizes work around three concepts:

Projects

They preserve the layers, timing, curves, and settings of each composition.

Assets

Images, SVG shapes, and text that are combined and animated within the project.

Exports

Lottie JSON files or .lottie packages ready to be integrated into compatible experiences.

Preview and export use the same compiler to build the animation.

Projects can be duplicated to create other versions.

Autosave and draft recovery help protect your work. If an editing conflict occurs, the application alerts you before overwriting changes.

The scope is focused on Lottie animations. Graphic assets are prepared beforehand; compatibility depends on the features used and the target player.
